- 2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup margarine (bad for you! Use butter!)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup Nutella
- 3 cup quick oats(I used gluten free)
Mix the first 4 ingredients in a small saucepan. Heat on medium until it boils. Boil 1 min and remove from heat.
Mix in all the ingredients but the pats and stir until the peanut butter and Nutella melt. (She doesn't say to do this, but if you don't it'll cool off too fast and not be mixed up.) Stir in the oats.
RP Servings: it made about 23 cookies. I'd say 12
RATING: 3 stars
I really wanted these to be great. They're fine, but not great. They didn't get super firm in the fridge, even after several hours. The flavor is fine - it's is better when it was warm, but you'd have to eat it with a spoon!
Possible tweaks - I think you could leave out some or all of the milk so they would set up firmer. With the cocoa and peanut butter in there, you don't get a huge Nutella flavor - but Nutella is soft and a bit runny, so you couldn't do this with just Nutella, I don't think. I also think you could use powdered sugar, no milk, and melted butter. Sift the cocoa in the butter and mix well and mix it in well. I'm not sure that the boiling accomplishes anything...
