2 ripe to over-ripe bananas, sliced and frozen (I didn’t freeze mine)
1 c almond milk (I used regular)
1/4 c smooth peanut butter
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 c ice
OPTIONAL: You could sub in some chocolate protein powder for some of the cocoa
Confession – I don’t like eating breakfast. I really don’t like breakfast food. But I like everything in this smoothie, and it doesn’t have protein powder (which I really don’t like). And it’s super fast, so that’s a plus.

The flavor is great! I might add a tad of agave next time since there’s nothing too sweet in here (and my bananas were ripe, but not over-ripe, so not super sweet), but overall it’s a great, healthy breakfast smoothie. My husband gave it a 3 1/2 overall, just because it didn’t have enough protein for him, but as far as flavor, he said a 4. I am happy to not have the weird after taste of protein powder, personally!
