1/2 oz Castillo Gold rum (the recipe just says “Castillo rum”, but we assume it means Gold)
1/2 oz Bacardi Silver rum (see note following!)
1/2 oz Myers rum
1/2 oz Malibu Coconut rum
splash key lime juice
Equal parts orange and pineapple juice
NOTE: While shopping for the rum – because the recipe specified Castillo, I was standing in front of the rum section of our wonderful new ABC store staring at all the choices – the clerk asked me if I needed help. (What I was really doing was deciding if I wanted to go with Castillo, or buy a gold rum I was more familiar with, since we were obviously not going to use the whole bottle in one night.) When I told her I’d never heard of Castillo, she told me a Fun Fact: When Bacardi has met their quota, they bottle under the Castillo label. Same rum, cheaper price. Sold! And since the recipe said “Bacardi Silver”, I saved $3 and got Castillo instead.

Our friend Skip, pictured, was the first to taste the Turtle Krawl. He took a sip, his face lit up, and he said, “OHHHH YEAHHHH!” We all agreed – this is a home run!
NOTE: This would be easy to make as a rum punch, which would be better for a crowd. Even with 4 of us, I would rather have done that, as we ended up having 2 each over the course of the evening, and my counter was super sticky by the end. Mix the alcohols in a small pitcher, and the juices and grenadine in another. Add 2 oz of rum mixture and top off withjuice mixture.
