HUBBY: What’s it called?
ME:…. Orange Martini.
HUBBY: No, I mean, what is it CALLED?
ME: ORANGEEEEE MARTINIIIIII
This is how the conversation went yesterday! hahahaha It was so funny, I felt like it was the Abbott & Costello bit!
SO, we had ORANGE MARTINIS last night. And they were good!
- 2 oz vodka
- 1 oz orange liqueur
- 1 oz orange juice (I used a fresh cara cara orange, each half was an ounce of juice)
- 1 oz simple syrup*
To rim the glass:
- 1 teaspoon orange zest, grated
- 2 tablespoon coarse sugar
The ingredients list is for one martini. You could make two at a time.
Add all the vodka, orange liqueur, orange juice, and simple syrup.
Shake VIGOROUSLY for about 20 seconds.
Pour into the martini glass, making sure not to wash off the rim mix.
Drink and enjoy! (Responsibly!)
RP Servings: Each is one martini
I don’t like overly sweet cocktails, and I found this a bit too sweet. I made two martinis, one at a time, and gave the first to my husband. Once I tasted it, I cut the simple syrup in half for mine, and liked it better. For me, it would be 5* with the addition of a spritz of fresh lime juice to give it just a bit of tang. I’ll definitely make it again!
