Vodka Sours are currently my favorite cocktail that I can make at home. And I don’t just mean, “oh, hm, that’s pretty good, I like that alright.” I mean, “husband, I have to go to Aldi and buy a giant bag of limes. You know why.”
- 1 1/2 oz Vodka
- 1/4 Simple Syrup
- 3/4 Lime (or Lemon) juice. Normally I don’t care about this at all, but you MUST listen to me. YOU MUST GET REAL LIMES/LEMONS. I AM SERIOUS. I use the stuff in the bottles for everything else (seriously, see ALL of my past recipes), but for this, you gotta use the real thing. You just have to.
Shake well over ice cubes in a shaker, pour into a glass.

Stars: Now here’s the only thing about this drink- the ratios are off for my personal preference. So while this cocktail unmolested gets around a 3.5, you’ve got to play with it to get your ratios right. Since I don’t really like tasting my liquor, I personally like a LOT more simple syrup (1 oz+ instead of 1/4 oz), and a fair bit more lime juice. And then you basically have something similar, but even tastier than lemonade, and you are extremely happy. 5/5, would drink every day, especially in the hot summer with a cool glass. Yummmmm….
